Then what is pigmentation?? Is it necessary for treatments?
Pigmentation is the colouring of your skin. It is a skin condition where patches of the skin turn into a darker shade of colour due to excessive presence of melanin, found on skin surface.
Melanin is produced by melanocytes and functions as miniatures umbrellas to skin cells to protect the skin from sun and UV damages.
Although pigmentations are usually harmless, for cosmetics reasons, it can be a nuisance. No one likes heading out with clearly visible spots or skin discolouration or acne scars. It is definitely very troublesome to feel the need to apply foundation or concealer to 'cover' the flaws! Most people wouldn't mind it but who doesn't like perfect skin? ;)
My Shakura experience
First, I was invited into a private consultation room where a consultant asked
me a few questions about my skin and facial care regimes.
Afterward, I had a one-on-one consultation, where another consultant analysed my
skin and take 'snapshots' of the pigmentation problem on my skin. My main concern
about my face is acne scars, although it is not very serious, it still irks me
that the spots are still there although the acne is already long gone. It's
like the acne is leaving its mark to show that it was there before lol
Time to go for treatment! The room was small and comfortably lighted, I
liked how the consultant has dimmed the light so that I can feel more relaxed~
She first removed my light makeup ( tinted moisturizer and coloured lip
balm ) and proceed with the cleansing, toning, and applied a lot of
nice-smelling products hehe ^_^ It was cooling and smells so good!
The first mask she put was very comfortable and I could feel my skin
absorbing the moisture and tightening! There was another cold mask which
hardens and it really smells like the Enchanteur perfumed talc powder I use all the time! I doze off after 5
minutes of figuring which smell the mask reminds me of lol
The whole treatment took me about 1.5 hours and I witnessed immediate changes to
my skin!! It was more radiant, whitened and smoother! The extracting of white
and black heads might be painful for some, but weirdly, I enjoyed the process
haha. Other than that, I loved the treatment! I always enjoyed pampering my
skin and the feeling of cold masks.
Customer Service
The first consultant who did my treatment was friendly and approachable. However,
she asked me many many many things about my job and I felt
kind of stressed out. It's like she was doing some market research haha
The second consultant finished up the treatment for me and praised my skin
non-stop (no doubt praising their treatment). She was nice at first but once I
declined to sign up for their package, she tried very hard to reason it out why
their package is the best and then got annoyed or something. I understand where
she's coming from, but if I said that 'I will consider and come back if I'm
interested', I think she should have stopped hard-selling it. She gave me a
look that says 'Your loss, not mine.' when I left the room. Well, I kind of
expected that so it's fine.
