Singapore Teochew Festival 2014

Hello there! How did you spend your Hari Raya Haji Public Holiday?

I hope you all had a good time off from school/work! (:

I was in town and came across the Singapore Teochew Festival.

Look at how hazy it was

This festival was organised in conjunction with the Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan's grand 85th anniversary celebrations in Singapore.

The event runs from 25 September to an extended date of 6 October 2014, ticketed at $5 each.

Theme for this year

The Festival showcases the following - Culture & HeritageArts & Crafts and Food & Beverage.

Embroidery

Chinese Tea

Wood Carving

Clay Figurines

Food Street & Artistic Performances

All the food vendors and artistic talents are specially invited from Shantou, China. There's an elderly man making huge lanterns on the spot too!!

There were soooo many people at Food Street so I decided to skip it though. Other vendors were selling dried goods, such as fish maw.

Overall, it was a fun exhibition! I even stayed awhile to watch a little girl perform Teochew Opera (:

Till next time!
Love, Ike♡
